Health and Physical Education Teacher

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Physical Education Teacher to join our team at a welcoming P-9 school community in Truganina. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching PE and Health to students in Years 7-9, working closely with the Sports team to design and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement PE lessons that promote physical activity, health, and well-being.
- Provide clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises.
- Teach a range of topics related to physical education, including health and well-being, nutrition, mental health, and personal development.
- Conduct physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.
- Organize and maintain PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
- Integrate health education components into PE lessons to promote students' understanding of health-related topics.
- Assess students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment.
- Full Australian Working Right
- Minimum 4-year Bachelor's Degree with at least 1 year teaching qualification
- Current VIT registration or working towards this
- Ability to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years
- A full-time position starting Term 1, 2025
- Instructing students across years 7-9
- Interacting with approachable and transparent leadership
- Work as part of a larger Sports faculty
- Salary aligned with demonstrated expertise, ranging from $75,000 to $115,000
- Continuing opportunities for professional development
