About the Role

As a Comprehensive Mental Health Specialist at Orygen, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive clinical acute mental health care to young people and their families.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our team. In this role, you will support the provision of inpatient-like care within the home environment, working collaboratively with young people, their families, and carers.

You will contribute to general and discipline approaches in providing this comprehensive care, demonstrating skills in mental health assessment, risk assessment, therapeutic interventions, least restrictive practices, and improved outcomes using evidence-based best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with young people and their families/carers to provide inpatient-like care within the home environment.
  • Provide discipline interventions and recovery-focused care in the home.
  • Demonstrate skills in mental health assessment, risk assessment, therapeutic interventions, least restrictive practices, and improved outcomes using evidence-based best practice.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and receive supervision and support through professional development.
Requirements
  • A relevant registration and qualifications: Psychologist (Clinical, Forensic, or Neuropsychologist), Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
  • Previous experience in clinical practice as a Mental Health Clinician - Psychiatric Nurse (In-patient or Community) or Allied Health Professional with tertiary mental health experience.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate client-centred individual service plans, risk assessments, and diagnostic formulations.
  • Ability to provide integrated assessment, treatment, and care for consumers with dual diagnoses.
