As the Principal of Port Curtis Road State School, you will lead the school community in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students. You will uphold values-based, ethical leadership and embed socially just practices in daily school life.

The successful candidate will set high standards for student and staff performance, engage in lifelong learning and professional development, and nurture positive partnerships with students, teachers, community, and stakeholders.

About the School

Located 7km to the heart of Rockhampton, our school has the convenience of being in the city with the distinction of a 'town-country' school atmosphere. We cater for 64 students from Prep to Year Six in multi-aged classes and a large well-resourced school campus.

We have increasing enrolments and an aspirational school culture. We have developed an embedded school transitions program to support a strong start for students entering prep.

Our focus is on quality teaching and learning and productive partnerships to support all learners to realise their potential.

Our structured literacy practices within the school are a key component of the explicit improvement agenda.

Our school contributes to a shared small school Head of Department (Curriculum) position to support the quality assurance of curriculum and moderation processes.

What We Offer

We are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.

We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.

Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.

We are dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity.
