Job Title: Sterilization Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterilization Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the highest standards of sterilization and infection control in our facilities.

As a Sterilization Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Thermal Disinfection: You will be responsible for ensuring that all instrumentation is properly disinfected using thermal methods.
  • Instrumentation Inspection: You will inspect all instruments to ensure they meet the required standards of cleanliness and functionality.
  • Packaging and Sterilization: You will package and sterilize all instrumentation for use in theatres and other clinical areas.

You will work closely with our team to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that our facilities meet the highest standards of sterilization and infection control.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate III in Sterilization Service: You must have a certificate in sterilization service or be working towards completion of the course.
  • Knowledge of AS 5369:2023: You must have knowledge and understanding of the Australian Standard for Sterilization (AS 5369:2023).
  • Electronic Tracking System: You must have experience in using electronic tracking systems to monitor and track instrumentation.
  • Manual Handling: You must have knowledge of manual handling principles and techniques and be able to perform manual handling activities safely.
