Warehouse and Yard Operations Specialist

Our organization is currently seeking a candidate for the position of Warehouse and Yard Associate.

The selected individual will be responsible for ensuring efficient movement of products within the yard, store or warehouse. Additionally, they will support the team in delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift to safely move stock around the yard or warehouse.
  • Perform tasks related to counting, weighing, sorting, loading and unloading materials.
  • Accurately receive and allocate incoming stock to the store or warehouse.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the warehouse.
  • Load vehicles correctly for outgoing deliveries.
  • Monitor stock levels and inform relevant supervisors when minimum quantities are reached.
  • Report any damage or loss of stock.
  • Develop product knowledge and stay up-to-date with company information.
  • Collaborate with other departments and work locations to meet customer needs.
  • Complete accurate work orders and receiving documents.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following safety protocols and best practices.
  • Report incidents related to workplace health and safety.
  • Be flexible and adapt to changing work environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Desirable experience working with building materials.
  • Capable of lifting/moving heavy items (up to 25kg).
  • Previous experience in a warehouse/yard setting is beneficial but not essential.
  • Forklift experience is highly valued.
  • Basic math functions and reading/writing skills are required.
