Job Summary

As a Lead Process Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and collaborating with a team of process engineers to develop process designs for studies and projects. You will provide technical leadership and expertise, and work with your teams to enhance their technical skills. You will interface with clients to understand their requirements and needs, and develop solutions that are fit-for-purpose and cost-effective. Your coordination will ensure that complex technical issues are resolved, clients are satisfied, and project needs are met.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead process teams to deliver the technical scope within the agreed schedule, budget, and technical quality.
  • Lead the development and checking of process deliverables, including process design criteria, mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing calculations, P&IDs, control philosophy, and OPEX.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, vendors, consultants, subject matter experts, and client teams to deliver the project successfully.
  • Contribute to the review and optimization of project design, cost, safety, constructability, and schedule.
  • Contribute to process team development and growth through mentoring and coaching.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 13-15 years of relevant experience in process engineering in the mining and metals industry.
  • At least 6 years of experience in process engineering design and the preparation of typical process deliverables.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
Desirable Skills
  • Detailed understanding of concentrator design, including crushing, grinding, classification, flotation, regrind, and thickening.
  • Good understanding of latest and emerging process technologies and equipment.
  • Well-developed skills of communication, leadership, and problem-solving.
  • Expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in particular fields of mineral processing and metallurgy.
  • Experience in mineral processing plants, either from operations or commissioning/plant start-up.
