About the Opportunity

This is a contract position at HanRoy, Perth based Monday to Friday. We are seeking a skilled Senior Commercial Advisor to provide commercial support for two currently underway iron ore feasibility studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting contracts and purchase orders for award, engaging relevant internal stakeholders in Tender Evaluations to leverage corporate knowledge.
  • Tender evaluation, tender analysis, drafting tender packages for issue to the market, and facilitation of the tendering process by responding to RFI's from the market.
  • Negotiation and award of contracts, including closure of all contractual departures, drafting recommendation for award documentation.
  • Assess monthly payment claims submitted by vendors, assess variation and claim requests in accordance with Contract and HanRoy policies and procedures.
  • Manage contracts register to ensure all contracts are awarded to meet project schedule, assist in end of month commercial reporting and updating of live registers.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience on contracts administration for major relevant mining projects and operations.
  • Degree in relevant field such as Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Law or equivalent experience in Mining or Contracts.
  • A basic understanding of Contract law and common law, proven skills in the development and review of bid and tender packages.
  • Experience in negotiating contract and commercial departures and conforming of contracts.
  • Able to drive change by influencing key stakeholders to enhance contracts process, strong understanding of good commercial practice.
  • Ability to understand and draft formal correspondence in accordance with underlying contract.
  • Strong influencing skills, ability to develop good working relationships with the team members and external parties.
  • Good financial and logical analysis capability, excellent written report writing skills, computing skills in Microsoft Office packages.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth.
