We are looking for a skilled Pastoral Carer to join our team at Mildred Symons House in Jannali, providing spiritual and emotional support to residents, families and staff.

About the Role

The Pastoral Carer will develop individual relationships with each resident, providing support according to their needs and preferences. This is achieved through one-to-one pastoral visitation, supporting new residents in their transition into residential aged care, and collaborating with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide spiritual support to residents, families and staff
• Support new residents in their transition into residential aged care
• Collaborate with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide person-centred care
• Provide pastoral care to staff and family members affected by grief and loss

Requirements:

• Strong personal and active Christian faith
• An active listener who builds trust and rapport
• Demonstrates a high level of empathy and compassion
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed administrative and computer skills
