Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Westmead Hospital. The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in a science related field and demonstrated knowledge in technical procedures associated with specialised procedures and/or treatments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting advanced neurodiagnostic procedures to help diagnose neurological conditions and directly contribute to patient outcomes.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and interpreting results.
  • Creating scientific reports for clinical teams.
  • Guiding and educating patients through procedures.
  • Collaborating on research and innovation projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in a science related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in technical procedures associated with specialised procedures and/or treatments relevant to a speciality and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and staff.
  • Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles in the speciality and resolve general and complex issues within the Department.
