The Software Asset Manager role is pivotal in driving a business-centric operational model. The individual ensures software and hardware assets are managed efficiently, compliantly, and with maximum value for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Service Owners to track, facilitate, and optimise software and hardware contract renewals.
  • Advise on solutions that meet business requirements while ensuring procurement of only approved products.
  • Validate asset usage, ensure financial requirements are met, and monitor lifecycle stages including End-of-Life, version management, and fleet size.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to design and execute transition strategies for assets and contractual arrangements.
  • Identify licensing risks, non-compliance, and mitigation strategies through robust control mechanisms.
  • Ensure all standards, processes, and reporting meet internal and external regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in software asset management, including direct dealings with software vendors (financial services experience desirable).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consultative skills.
  • Expertise in software and hardware asset management principles.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
  • Understanding of operating environments, core applications, and products in a corporate setting (desirable).
