About This Opportunity

The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Prisoner Triage is a highly advanced clinical practice registered nurse who provides expert support and leadership in the field of prisoner triage.

  • Provides clinical guidance and expertise to healthcare teams across prison health centres to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Supports the strategic objectives of patient-centred care within correctional facilities and inter-professional teams.

About You

We are seeking an individual with exceptional clinical skills, experience, and knowledge in contemporary primary health care and correctional health practices. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Contemporary expert level of knowledge and skills in primary health care and correctional health.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders engaged in service delivery.
  • Proven leadership skills to develop and implement health support information programs and resources.
  • Capability to provide clinical supervision and mentoring to maintain professional standards.
  • Expertise in developing and evaluating primary health clinical practices and guidelines.

Mandatory Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
  • Proof of qualification and registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
