Religious Education Coordinator Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Education Coordinator to join our team of educators. Our Catholic schools in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains aim to provide high-quality education that is affordable for all families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building on our faith-based culture, fostering an environment where spirituality, compassion, and commitment to justice thrive. This includes ensuring high-quality contemporary learning and teaching, leading a collaborative ministry of witness and service, and contributing to the enhancement of our liturgical, sacramental and spiritual life.

The role requires a deep understanding of Catholic teachings, strong commitment to fostering Marist values, and demonstrated experience in delivering and leading religious education curriculum. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to organise and lead spiritual formation activities, manage various ministries within the school, and collaborate with senior leadership to deepen our Catholic and Marist identity.

  • Job Description: Ensure high-quality contemporary learning and teaching, foster a spirit of collaboration and community, and contribute to the development of our liturgical, sacramental and spiritual life.
  • Lead a Collaborative Ministry: Develop and implement programs that promote student growth, well-being, and achievement, while supporting teachers and staff in their roles.
  • Spiritual Formation: Organise and lead activities that foster spiritual growth, promote social justice, and develop student empathy and compassion.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a Master of Religious Education/Theology or be committed to completing this qualification within four years. You will also need to comply with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children, be eligible according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), hold a tertiary qualification (minimum 4-year degree), and have accreditation to teach RE.
