Logistics Manager Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Logistics Manager to oversee the efficient and effective movement of goods from suppliers to customers. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Import Coordination: Coordinate inbound shipments from overseas suppliers, including customs clearance and compliance requirements.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and implement inventory control systems to maintain availability at minimum cost.
  • Warehouse Operations: Supervise the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods through the warehouse.
  • Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources, including warehouse staff and delivery drivers.
  • Logistics Partnerships: Liaise with third-party logistics providers and monitor service performance.
  • Delivery Scheduling: Develop and oversee delivery schedules to ensure timely and accurate customer fulfilment.
  • Cost Management: Monitor logistics costs, including freight and distribution, and suggest process improvements.
  • Supply Chain Record Keeping: Ensure accurate recording of supply, storage, and distribution activities.
  • Business Planning: Liaise with other departments to plan stock requirements and forecast demand.
  • Health and Safety: Oversee compliance with workplace health and safety standards in logistics operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Commerce, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. They should also have completion of courses or units specifically related to supply chain, logistics, or inventory management, as well as minimum 1 year of experience in logistics, warehousing, or distribution management.
