Senior Electrical Engineer - High Voltage Design

Zenviron, a joint venture between Monadelphous and ZEM Energy, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team based in the Newcastle Office. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, and commercially effective engineering designs for large-scale wind farms and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the design of large-scale high-voltage infrastructure projects, including system analysis and studies, earthing systems, substation primary, protection, and control systems, secondary schematics, and panel design.
  • Lead electrical equipment specification and procurement activities, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Understand and promote WHS responsibilities, actively supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of yourself and others.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to other members of the Engineering team and project teams.
  • Ensure all designs/documentation meet relevant standards AS/IEC.
  • Provide engineering support to project electrical works, including engineering investigations, site inspections, solving problems, and making recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Australian recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (or be eligible to obtain on commencement)
  • State-based Professional Engineer registration (or be eligible to obtain on commencement)
  • Proven experience in electrical infrastructure engineering design for HV substation or large-scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on primary system design
  • Working knowledge of PowerFactory, PSCAD, CDEGS design software
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail in the delivery of effective and high-quality designs
  • Strong ability to mentor engineers to develop capabilities
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
