About the Role

Aon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mergers and Acquisitions Specialist to join its dynamic team in Sydney. As a key member of the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Transaction Solutions practice, you will play a critical role in providing transaction liability insurance and risk advisory services to the M&A community.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law, commerce, or finance, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. You will be responsible for engaging directly with clients, managing significant M&A projects, reading and checking sale and purchase agreements, negotiating policy terms, and producing reports.

You will work closely with experienced leaders to ensure successful transition into Aon and the insurance industry. The M&A and Transactional Solutions team prides itself on being market-leaders, committed to providing a gold-class standard of service to its clients.

What We Offer

A competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a parental leave cover opportunity for 12 months, with flexible hybrid working arrangements based in Sydney.

Requirements
  • A law/commerce degree and legal/finance/accounting background with a substantial focus on M&A
  • Experience working in a professional services or law firm
  • Experience with corporate taxation would be highly valued but is not required
  • Outstanding client management capabilities, which includes attracting, retaining and growing clients
  • A keen entrepreneurial spirit and flare for business development
  • Analytical abilities and experience drafting proposals and documentation
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to take ownership and accountability for development and execution of projects and relationships
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in fast paced environment
