This is a pivotal role that plays a critical part in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, training and support services that empower people to live independently, gain employment, engage in social activities, and pursue their recreational interests.

Effective communication and coordination are key to this position as the successful candidate will work closely with participants, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration.

To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to empowerment, respect, dignity, and inclusion when supporting individuals with disabilities. They should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as developed interpersonal skills.

A high level of spoken English is essential, including an understanding of local expressions and references.

Key Selection Criteria Include:

  • A minimum Certificate III in Disability Studies or related fields;
  • High level of spoken English with understanding of local sayings and references;
  • Good communication skills with developed interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated ability and skill to use person-centred care;
  • Possess well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, problem-solving, and the ability to communicate effectively as a team member.

This casual role requires flexibility and adaptability. The successful candidate will be required to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. They must also have access to a reliable vehicle and hold a valid driver's license with comprehensive insurance.
