Senior Researcher in Aged Care

This role presents a chance to be part of the Registry of Senior Australians Research Centre, supporting high-quality research in aged and health care services for older individuals.
About the Position- Conduct high-quality research focusing on quality and safety of care in aged care, medication safety, and integrated care.
- Facilitate activities of federally funded projects concentrating on individuals in aged care settings.
- Work independently and collaboratively with the team, research partners, consumer representatives, staff, and stakeholders of research projects.
- Analyse large datasets contained within the registry, including aged care data, Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme data, Medicare Benefits Schedule data, and hospitalisation records.
- Prepare papers for publication in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in dissemination of research findings at appropriate conferences.
- Monitor and report on progress against key performance indicators of funded studies.
- Contribute to preparation of grants and applications for competitive funding in related areas.
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Degree qualification in a relevant field with extensive relevant experience.
- PhD in Health Services Research, Epidemiology, Geriatrics, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related field highly desirable.
- Demonstrated history of independent scientific contributions in their discipline.
- Excellent proficiency working with SAS, R, or Stata, and experience working with large datasets independently.
- Knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistics, including experience working with observational data, multivariable modelling, missing data, confounding/interaction issues, and survival analysis.
