Our client, a leading healthcare provider in the Central Highlands, is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team as a consultant.

About the Facility

The health service is a major referral hospital for the region, offering a wide range of medical and surgical services, including emergency and intensive care, residential aged care, rehabilitation, oncology, mental health, maternity, paediatric services, and Hospital in the Home (HITH).

The department manages over 60,000 patients annually, with approximately 25% being paediatric cases. The facility is undertaking significant investments, including a new tower set to be completed in 2027, which will feature a new emergency department, women and children's hub, state-of-the-art theatre suite, and additional inpatient and short stay beds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing high-quality patient care in the emergency department
  • Contributing to the growth and development of the department through supervision and support of junior medical staff
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary morbidity and mortality meetings and implementing a responsive and constructive feedback program
Eligibility Criteria
  • Specialist Registration with AHPRA as a FACEM (ED Consultant)
  • IMGs eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada, or Ireland)
  • SIMGs assessed by ACEM College as Substantially comparable will be considered
  • Doctors awarded the fellowship (FACEM) in the next 6 months encouraged to apply
