Job Opportunity

The Data Engineering and Migration Consultant is responsible for the design and implementation of data transition from our various systems to specific platforms. This role will work with internal and external stakeholders, and cross-functional teams and suppliers to execute large-scale data migration projects.

Please note: this role will initially be a 12-month max term contract with a view for extension for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of data migration projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to understand data migration requirements and objectives.
  • Design and implement robust ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from source to target systems.
  • Audit and optimize data quality during migration, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure compatibility with existing and new systems.
  • Implement data validation and reconciliation processes to guarantee the integrity of migrated data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Develop documentation and provide training to internal teams on new data structures and processes.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you must have strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent time management skills. A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline is essential.

Additionally, you should have:

  • Fundamental knowledge of the ITIL framework and/or other IT Service Management methodologies.
  • Solid experience in data engineering or migration roles with a focus on internal business systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale data migration projects across finance, practice management/ERP, payroll, and human resources systems.
  • Proven expertise in data modeling, ETL development, and database management systems.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, Practice Management Systems, and Finance systems architecture, data models, and integration mechanisms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to achieve the organization's objectives.
