**Job Summary**

We are seeking highly motivated lawyers with relevant experience to join our General Counsel team in the Australian Taxation Office.

As a lawyer in our ATO Corporate business area, you will be responsible for the effective management of legal cases across teams and the ATO. This includes analysing, interpreting and applying legislation, policies, practices and precedents to make recommendations and manage general law legal risks, including complex cases.

**Key Responsibilities**

  1. Analysing and interpreting legislation, policies, practices and precedents to inform legal advice and risk management
  2. Providing legal advice to a range of stakeholders, including senior managers and external clients
  3. Identifying, evaluating and managing the resolution of complex and/or sensitive issues

**Working Arrangements**

These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Melbourne CBD or Sydney CBD. A merit pool may be formed and used to fill future similar vacancies in these locations and other locations within the same metropolitan area.
