About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Child Protection Specialist in our Children and Disability Team, based at Pullar House in Perth. As a specialist in child protection, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people within the Perth and Kinross area.
Job Description
The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of the issues that impact upon disabled children and their families. They will be aware of and understand child development, attachment, and the impact of trauma. The role involves carrying out direct work with children, young people, and their families, including assessing and providing support, working with Looked After and accommodated children, and monitoring packages of support.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out assessments and provide support to children and families in need
- To work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children
- To monitor packages of support and ensure they are effective in meeting the needs of children and families
- To contribute to Child Protection Planning Meetings, Core Groups, and Children's Hearings
Requirements
- Social Work Degree
- Experience and knowledge of child protection and family support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work flexibly and prioritise workload effectively
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £35,378 - £37,736 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a healthy work-life balance.
