Academic Specialist

We are seeking a qualified Mathematics and Science educator who embodies enthusiasm, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and is deeply committed to Christian schooling. Successful candidates will join a highly skilled and supportive secondary teaching team.

This full-time position offers a unique opportunity for growth, improvement, and leadership as our student enrollment is expected to increase from 400 to 650 students over the next five years.

• Develop and implement curriculum and assessment practices within the faculty.
• Support colleagues in their daily practice, fostering a Christ-centred culture within the team.
• Lead professional development within the faculty to implement effective instructional methods.
• Ensure faculty compliance with NESA and school-based curriculum, assessment, and reporting requirements.
• Promote data-driven decision making within the faculty.
• Manage faculty resources effectively.
• Model high standards of personal instructional practice and curriculum compliance.
• Collaborate with the College Leadership Team to support the Executive Leadership Team's strategic growth priorities.

• Be able to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
• Be receptive to feedback on your teaching and implement changes.
• Be supportive of explicit instruction approach to teaching, based in a knowledge-rich curriculum.
• Be able to effectively plan for, collect and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
• Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
• Have an active Christian faith, suitable tertiary qualifications, and NESA accreditation (or be eligible).
• Hold a current Employee Working with Children Check.
