We are seeking a strategic and innovative leader to join our team as the Head of Operations for the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF).
Key Responsibilities- Lead the operational excellence of the ATNF telescopes, including ASKAP, Murriyang, and the Australia Telescope Compact Array.
- Develop and implement initiatives that promote a vibrant and supportive workplace, ensuring safety and sustainability are prioritized.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build strong partnerships and drive business growth.
- Manage and coordinate staff deployment across projects and operations, working closely with the ATNF leadership team.
- Develop and implement financial management strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrated infrastructure management expertise, including procurement and facility lifecycle management, in a research environment.
- Experience in leading a high-performance culture in a research environment or organization, including the integration of Health, Safety & Environment and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion into normal business processes.
- Experience of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
- A demonstrated record of adherence to professional ethics and conduct, including professional and respectful workplace behavior.
- A willingness and ability to travel interstate, as required.
