Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Communications Officer to join our team at the 317 Elite Sales Team. As a Fire Communications Officer, you will be responsible for providing critical support in emergency situations, working closely with our emergency response team to coordinate resources and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls, providing guidance and support to individuals in critical situations
  • Coordinate the dispatch of emergency service resources and personnel
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple streams of information and prioritizing tasks effectively
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with emergency services personnel and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years full-time equivalent general paid work experience
  • Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent
  • Australian/New Zealand Citizen or Australian Resident Status
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, remaining calm and composed under stress

Selection Process
  1. Complete typing test
  2. Complete online assessments
  3. Interview
  4. Satisfy a criminal history check
  5. Complete psychological assessments
  6. Medical assessment

Successful applicants will be required to attend a 13-week recruit course at the School of Fire and Emergency Services Training in Brisbane. The course will cover both theoretical and practical instruction, with assignments and tests to assess competency.

A 12-month probationary period applies upon commencement of the recruit course. If you are not employed on a full-time basis, your pay will revert to either part-time or casual rates following graduation and upon placement in your region and finalisation of the required training program.

Fire Communications Officers must also contend with the potential disruption the role may have on their personal lives, including working weekends, public holidays, and being called for duty during major emergencies.
