Safeguarding the integrity of sports is a key responsibility, and this role will play a vital part in protecting the sport from various threats.
About Basketball GovernanceThe NBL operates under an innovative framework, with a focus on growth, entertainment, and compliance. It delivers professional basketball leagues in Australia and New Zealand, striving to be positioned as one of the leading sporting codes in Australia.
This is a unique position requiring expertise in maintaining competition integrity. You will report to the governing body's head of integrity, working within the integrity unit to manage day-to-day issues arising under the National Integrity Framework.
Your responsibilities include education, prevention, monitoring, intelligence, and investigations related to gambling, match-fixing, anti-doping, member protection, and athlete welfare. Collaboration with state and territory associations ensures integrity across Australian basketball.
You will assist with managing reports, investigations, and hearings under the National Integrity Framework, ensuring compliance and security within the NBL.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the management of matters arising under the National Integrity Framework affecting the NBL.
- Manage sensitive information and intelligence in a centralised complaint management system.
- Develop and implement integrity management strategies.
- Provide timely information and intelligence reports to the governing body's head of integrity.
- Monitor wagering markets for the NBL.
- Lead and assist in the management of investigations and hearings initiated under the National Integrity Framework.
- Compile briefs of evidence and documentation for presentation of cases to the governing body, Hearings, and Tribunals.
- Provide integrity advice and guidance to stakeholders, including NBL clubs and participants.
- Deliver integrity education programs.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with integrity requirements to safeguard the sport.
- Contribute to the review and update of National Integrity Framework policies and procedures.
