Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship Opportunity

This is a prestigious 12-month temporary full-time position in Reconstructive Head, Neck and Skull Base Surgery at John Hunter Hospital.

  • As a Post Graduate Fellow, you will provide care to patients under the supervision of consultant staff while undertaking a comprehensive post-graduate fellowship training program in Head and Neck Reconstructive and Skull Base Surgery.
  • You will have broad experience in ENT Head and Neck Surgery, enabling you to be involved in teaching registrars and pursuing more complex learnings including microvascular free flaps.
  • Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, clinical audit and administrative activities within the department at John Hunter Hospital.
  • Attend rostered work hours whilst on-call including handover, clinical supervision, teaching and emergency routine care as determined by HNELHD.
Qualifications and Eligibility
  • Be a current medical practitioner eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA and hold Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in ENT/Head and Neck Surgery and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  • International Medical Graduates who are overseas trained specialists must be assessed by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and gain limited registration with AHPRA on a specialist pathway satisfactory to the College, AHPRA and HNELHD prior to commencement.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Provide contemporary and professional high-quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in ENT/Head and Neck Surgery at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow.
  • Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, clinical audit and administrative activities within the department at John Hunter Hospital.
