About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our team in Sydney and contribute to the development of our Engine Platform. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-native architecture, with a focus on Java and AWS/GCP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of new features and products from scratch, working in small teams across the bank to collaboratively deliver.
  • Architect solutions to solve complex problems, understanding client needs and designing scalable, efficient, and secure systems.
  • Define best practices for technology and enable quality work, ensuring that our codebase remains clean, simple, and maintainable.
  • Support, grow, mentor, and lead the team, helping to build a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Work with clients to understand their needs and help solve their problems, ensuring that our solutions meet their requirements.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Java engineer, with a strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and microservices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement complex systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with AWS and GCP, including Kubernetes, Terraform, and Grafana.
