Role Overview: Publisher Sales Director - APACThe Regional Sales Director for Asia-Pacific Publishers will be instrumental in driving success for the Publisher Development team and GumGum's publishers in the SEA & Australia region. As the senior most supply expert for the APAC region, this leader will cultivate C-Suite publisher relationships, leveraging metrics to drive the publisher acquisition process with operational rigor. This role will generate lucrative business model opportunities by deepening premium supply partnerships, identifying new revenue trends, and staying informed on emerging technologies through active participation in industry events and conferences.
This individual will work closely with the regional Head of Demand Sales and other leaders to understand bespoke customer needs on a regular basis and deliver tailored solutions with a client-first mentality. We are looking for a strong individual contributor who is open to potentially building a small regional team over time. They will collaborate with existing and expanding PubDev teams within JAPAC, share best practices with other regional PubDev leaders, and ensure a holistic approach for global publishers.
We foster a flexible work environment, offering our team members the ability to work either in-office or remotely/from home. However, occasional in-person collaboration may require the position to be located within a 'commutable' distance to our office.
Key Responsibilities:- Publisher Pipeline Development
Pitch to senior-level decision-makers, close new supply partnerships, nurture a pipeline of premium publishers to meet revenue goals, and streamline processes to accelerate sales growth.
- Publisher Account Leadership
Maximize the value of existing partnerships, lead GumGum's positioning with key digital media publishers, engage with publishers to understand their needs, and leverage insights and technology.
- Supply Strategy & Management
Develop and execute growth strategies with PubDev leadership, create regional business plans, analyze and present inventory data, and collaborate to grow monetization.
- Publisher Development Operations
Standardize and implement global supply tactics and tools, refine playbooks, tools, and methods to ensure consistency in sales presentations and materials.
- Supply Reporting & Analytics
Forecast, track, and measure sales KPIs using CRM tools, reporting to the executive team.
- Voice of the Publishers
Advocate for publishers in feature development and product planning.
- Industry Leadership
Participate in industry events, webinars, and forums to build partnerships and stay informed on emerging technologies.
Requirements:We seek a highly skilled individual with:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
A minimum of 8 years in ad tech, with 7+ years in business development/sales, proven experience in sourcing and securing partnerships, particularly in business development, expertise in complex, multi-faceted ad tech products, and supporting technologies.
- Strong industry network and consistent track record of meeting/exceeding business targets.
- Deep knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem, programmatic media buying/selling, and emerging trends.
- Ability to provide leadership with insights on trends, performance, and strategy.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce, and Google Drive.
- Strong communication, presentation, closing, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work cross-departmentally and lead strategic conversations.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and time management skills.
- Entrepreneurial, creative problem solver with a growth mindset.
- Willingness to travel within the APAC region.
