Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Director to lead our Environmental Conservation program in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the program's objectives, managing a team of staff, and developing relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Environmental Conservation program, ensuring the delivery of program objectives and milestones.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a diverse team of project directors and staff, fostering a healthy and dynamic team culture.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including conservation organizations, industry partners, and government officials.
  • Public Profile: Cultivate a significant public profile for the Environmental Conservation program, promoting the organization's work and achievements.
  • Strategic Coordination: Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure strategic coordination of work in Australia with the organization's global programs.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budget and finances for the program, ensuring excellent fiscal management.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of applicable experience, including staff, project, and/or consultant management experience.
  • Expertise: Expertise in biodiversity conservation and management, environmental advocacy, and protection in Australia.
  • Skills: Excellent written and oral communications skills, with effective interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
  • Travel: Travel is required periodically throughout Australia and to the organization's headquarters.

Salary Range: $182,300 AUD - $203,700 AUD
