About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal AI Architect to join our Data and AI Architecture team at Australia Post. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of AI solutions that align with our strategic goals and Data and AI Reference Architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement AI solutions that meet our business needs and align with our Data and AI Reference Architecture.
  • Coordinate with vendors and collaborate with the Data and AI Solutions team to select tools, libraries, and platforms for AI development and deployment.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership on AI-related projects, ensuring that solutions are technically sound and adhere to industry standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI systems, implementing improvements and optimizations as necessary.
  • Participate in relevant Architecture Forums and Boards, prepare submissions and presentations.
  • Conduct research and development to explore new AI methodologies and techniques that can provide a competitive advantage.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Enterprise, Domain or Solution Architecture, with at least 5 years focused on AI, machine learning, or data science.
  • Proven ability designing and implementing large-scale AI systems in a production environment.
  • Experience in leading technical teams and managing complex AI projects is advantageous.
  • Understanding of any major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure) and AI deployment strategies.
  • Expertise in at least one AI/ML framework such as Tensor Flow, Py Torch, Scikit-learn and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or others.
  • Specialised knowledge of data engineering, big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), and data governance.
  • Familiarity with AI in specific domains such as natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or reinforcement learning.
  • Strong understanding of MLOps application lifecycle management, CI/CD automation, and operational monitoring and maintenance.
