About the Role

We seek an experienced Due Diligence Specialist & Legal Officer to lead comprehensive evaluations of potential investments, business partners, and acquisition targets. This role involves combining expertise in due diligence and legal analysis to identify risks, ensure compliance, and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Due Diligence: Conduct in-depth evaluations of financial statements, legal agreements, and regulatory filings for potential acquisitions, mergers, partnerships, or investments, focusing on the CFD and financial services sectors.
  • Legal Analysis: Review and analyze legal documents to ensure compliance and identify potential liabilities or risks.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate risks associated with third-party relationships or target companies, including reputational, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Third-Party Risk Management: Oversee and monitor third-party relationships to mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Industry Regulation Research: Stay informed on regulatory trends and changes to ensure compliance and align due diligence strategies with evolving industry standards.
  • Report Preparation: Create detailed due diligence reports highlighting risks and providing actionable recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams from accounting, legal, risk, and other departments to ensure a holistic due diligence process.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leaders and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field, preferably with an advanced degree.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in compliance or legal roles, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese.
  • Proven experience in due diligence, risk management, and industry research within the financial services sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
