About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Residential Care Assistant. In this pivotal role, you will play a significant part in the lives of our young people, providing pastoral support, ensuring their safety, fostering their welfare, managing their behaviour, and facilitating their personal development.

This position demands a proactive physical presence and supervision both on campus and during daily activities. You will work closely with the Head of Boarding to assist with the day-to-day operations of the boarding house.

  • You will provide assistance to the Head of Boarding in the pastoral care and welfare of young people and general functions of the boarding house.
  • You will be responsible for assisting in the daily routines of the boarding house, including supervising students and ensuring they rise, attend to personal hygiene, personal housekeeping, and community duties.
  • You will assist in the supervision of student activities and outings as required.

This role is ideal for individuals who have experience working with children or young adults in residential settings, such as tutors, nurses, youth workers, or those with experience in residential care. A warm and welcoming manner, strong interpersonal communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential requirements.

As an employee at this level, you will be responsible for providing pastoral care and support to students, as well as contributing to the overall management of the boarding house. You will also be required to obtain and maintain current certification in First Aid, CPR, and Duty of Care, as well as hold a valid LR bus license.
