Aboriginal Community Outreach Specialist

Our organization serves a network of schools and community facilities. As an Aboriginal School and Community Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides quality education to students.

The role involves working with school communities to provide a welcoming place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and their children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • School Support: Supporting the learning, pastoral, and spiritual wellbeing of Aboriginal students, their families, and community.
  • Community Engagement: Communicating with Aboriginal families, school personnel, and forming partnerships with local Aboriginal organizations and Elders.

Essential Criteria:

  • Cultural Connection: Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be able to engage and connect with Aboriginal Elders and local community organizations.
  • Supportive Role: Supportive of the purpose, vision, and values of our organization.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills in a variety of settings.
  • Current Licence: Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Working with Children Check: NSW Working with Children Check.
  • National Criminal History Check: Successful Candidate to undertake a National Criminal History Check.
  • Certification: Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A) or willing to achieve.
