Job Overview

Senior Building Designers develop and oversee the construction of buildings, ensuring they are safe and structurally sound. They lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough building inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, and civil engineers on cross-functional teams to drive project delivery forward.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for building design, project management, and team leadership.
  • Mentor junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge in building design and construction.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant university degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
  • At least 8-12 years' experience as a Senior Structural Engineer, with expertise in building design projects.
  • Experience working across various types of buildings and materials.
  • Membership of Engineers Australia and working towards CPEng and NER registration is highly regarded.
  • Detailed knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Standards.
