About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Category Manager to join our Big W Commercial team, focusing on the Decor, Storage & Tabletop categories. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive sales growth, profitability, and market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate ranges and refine GBB competitive pricing & product architecture in line with Category Strategy, using Customer and Market insights to ensure alignment with BIG W strategies.
  • Partner with group sourcing & Graphic Packaging Design Team to maximise own brand offers & grow customer advocacy where relevant.
  • Manage key strategic Initiatives, as well as deliver targets on sales growth, profitability and market share. Build and manage an effective and sustainable end to end promotional program.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to implement promotional activity effectively.
  • Deliver optimum ranges via a planned review schedule, offering choice that is store tailored, reflective of the category roles, incorporates changing customer trends and utilises focused customer insight.

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience in Category Management or Buying in Homewares, with an emphasis on project management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
