Australian Border Force Officer

We are currently seeking flexible and adaptable individuals to join our team as Casual Assistant Border Force Officers (ABFOs) on a part-time basis.
As an ABFO, you will work collaboratively with our team members to achieve work area objectives, representing the Australian Border Force professionally in the public domain. You will be responsible for providing general administrative support, border clearing travellers, crew, and goods, and performing duties in a fast-paced, high-volume operating environment.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, have basic computer skills, and be capable of interacting with members of the community and foreign visitors.
You will receive appropriate training in order to undertake requisite functions, such as passenger clearances, and will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide general administrative support including border clearing travellers, crew, and goods
- Work collaboratively as an effective team member to achieve work area objectives
- Represent the Australian Border Force in frontline operational areas, dealing directly with members of the public including foreign travellers
- Perform duties in a fast-paced, high-volume operating environment
The positions fall within North Queensland, which is a part of Operations Queensland (QLD). Vacancies currently exist in Cairns and Townsville District Offices.
Casual ABFOs undertakes a range of routine transactional and administrative operational support tasks, predominately working in International Airports however may undertake a variety of tasks across frontline operational work areas within the ABF.
EligibilityTo be eligible for the position, you must be an Australian Citizen.
The Department of Home Affairs offers an attractive remuneration package, including salary, superannuation benefits and flexible working conditions appropriate to the level of the position. The estimated annual salary for this role is between $56,774 and $63,695 plus 15.4% superannuation.
