Job Title: Space Infrastructure Development Specialist

Job Description:

The Structures Subassemblies Build team is responsible for creating rapidly manufacturable assemblies for Starship and the Super Heavy Booster. As a structures build specialist, you will partner with design teams from the earliest phases to ensure manufacturability and oversee hardware production throughout its lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with vehicle analysts and design teams to develop solutions that meet vehicle design and manufacturing process requirements.
  • Develop and implement production procedures to manage the transition of primary structures and assemblies from development to high-rate production.
  • Coordinate and execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing of systems, machinery, and tooling needed to meet hardware delivery deadlines.
  • Implement design for manufacturability changes to enhance production efficiency.
  • Design and create original CAD models and prints for flight and/or tooling components.
  • Lead on-site design engineering contact for efficient build of parts and assemblies.
  • Develop and maintain build schedules.
  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing discrepancies while interfacing with the quality team.
  • Participate in design reviews internally and with suppliers and customers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience in engineering roles related to manufacturing or production.
