About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our Engineering Support team at Graymont Limited. Based in our Asia Pacific Headquarters in North Sydney, you will work in a hybrid (office and home) working environment, reporting to the Manager of Engineering Support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the engineering department, primarily EPC, and to the plants. Key areas of involvement include:
• Collaborating with project teams to develop preliminary general arrangements, 2D and 3D layouts, and process flow diagrams for option analysis and feasibility studies.
• Assisting and supporting the EPC team, Capital Projects Managers, and other cross-functional groups to develop scope of work documents by traveling to site and performing measurements.
• Providing design and drafting support for site-related projects where EPC is not involved.
• Supporting EPC and Operations with developing Class 5-4 cost estimates and documentation support on Capital Projects.
• Assisting with the process of migrating historical documents into the engineering document management system.
• Supporting Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams in reviewing drawings supplied by external consultants.
• Providing project commissioning support and commissioning QC support as required.
This role will require reasonable travel across our locations in Australia and New Zealand from time to time, depending on the needs of the business.
To be successful in this role, you will:
• Possess successful years of engineering experience in a multi-disciplinary approach within an industrial environment, preferably in the lime, cement, mining, or other bulk material industry.
• Hold formal education with a Diploma or Advance Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical).
• Have experience in the use of 3D rendering software such as Revit, Inventor, AutoCAD, Recap, and Navisworks, combined with experience with project cost estimating.
