Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Linktree. As a key member of our Legal Team, you will play a critical role in advising on a diverse range of cutting-edge legal issues and providing strategic guidance to support the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and advise on new products and services to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
  • Provide expert guidance on privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA, and ensure that our business practices are aligned with these regulations;
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including contracts and memoranda of understanding;
  • Advise on marketing and brand campaigns and collaborations to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
  • Work closely with other functions to support the business, including on new policies and initiatives;
  • Assist the Support Team in resolving disputes and escalations;
  • Provide real-time advice to various teams and squads across the business, including Product, Growth, and Brand.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to practice law in Australia, with additional jurisdictions (UK, USA) being highly beneficial;
  • At least 8 years of strong experience in product and privacy law, with a focus on consumer law;
  • Ability to overlap some working hours with the United States west coast (Pacific Standard Time);
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage numerous initiatives simultaneously;
  • Self-starter with strong business acumen and ability to weigh risks and come at problems from a commercial angle;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make complex issues simple;
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced culture, and practical, solutions-oriented focus.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in other jurisdictions internationally (UK, USA);
  • Experience in payments, e-commerce, and the creator ecosystem;
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, including MSAs, NDAs, licensing, and other agreements.
