About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Nuclear Engineer - Facilities to join our pioneering submarine-supporting infrastructure design, construction, and operation team. This role involves integrating nuclear safety, security, and safeguards into submarine-supporting infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nuclear engineering expertise during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Participate in assurance and compliance activities, contributing to licensing documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Identify and implement improvements in nuclear facility engineering processes and documentation.
  • Maintain facility-related nuclear documentation under configuration control.
  • Assist in identifying and managing nuclear-related risks associated with facility build and operations.

This role requires adaptability and collaboration, with availability for calls outside normal working hours and periodic domestic and international travel.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in nuclear, defence, or highly regulated engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety, security, and safeguards principles.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering, requirements management, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience in submarine or naval nuclear programs.
  • Exposure to safety case development and licensing submissions.
  • Experience with configuration management and technical assurance processes.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
