About the Role
In the capacity of Business Assurance & Controls Team Lead within our Customer Engagement Assurance division, you will be instrumental in delivering Line 1 Risk support tailored for the Customer Engagement Portfolio. This position entails contributing to and overseeing CE-specific business risk evaluations, managing risk-related transformations, designing controls, and providing comprehensive assurance guidance.
As the Business Assurance & Controls Team Lead, your responsibilities will encompass leading intricate Assurance initiatives associated with the risk profile of the Customer Engagement team. This includes facilitating Operational Risk Assessments, managing Obligations, overseeing Control Governance, and deriving Risk Insights. You will also actively contribute to enhancing Risk capability, culture, and awareness while promoting Operational Risk Management as a fundamental competency.

What will your day look like?
This role is accountable for:
- Leading the Customer Engagement Assurance Team, including performance management of team members, setting objectives, and distributing responsibilities and workload effectively.
- Facilitating and engaging in Risk Management Forums (RMFs), including the preparation of specialized content.
- Conducting and supporting regulatory control attestations and other necessary attestation activities.
- Providing compliance support and control objectives, including assistance with control design.
- Assisting the business in implementing outcomes from thematic reviews and deep dives conducted by Line 2 and 3, along with addressing identified trends and audit support issues.
- Coordinating and assisting with responses during internal Audit reviews that span multiple portfolios or value chains.
- Maintaining and managing the completeness and quality of risk data.
- Supporting the business in evaluating their risk profiles and control environments.
- Overseeing and aiding the business with risk treatment plans.
- Conducting regular risk reviews (e.g., High/Extreme risk reviews).
- Providing support for conducting change risk impacts and risk assessments related to change implementation.
- Offering risk advisory support to the business to facilitate informed decision-making on risk management.
- Collaborating with the business to enhance risk awareness and capabilities.

- In-depth knowledge of risk and compliance regulations and frameworks.
- Experience in designing and managing controls across the organization.
- A desire to understand customer and banker interactions regarding risk management.
- The ability to challenge the status quo and innovate.
- Experience in risk management or internal/external audit, complemented by substantial banking and finance industry knowledge.
