Job Title: Principal Research SpecialistJob Description

As a Principal Research Specialist, you will lead cutting-edge research initiatives focused on enhancing social and emotional wellbeing for First Nations individuals, families, and communities.

  • You will advance research in the area of First Nations social and emotional wellbeing, identifying key factors that influence outcomes and developing culturally supportive strategies and interventions.
  • With a deep understanding of the cultural, social, and historical contexts that impact First Nations social and emotional wellbeing, you will work collaboratively with First Nations communities and stakeholders to co-create knowledge and solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead research teams, mentor junior researchers, and manage complex projects and timelines is essential for this role.

A PhD in a related discipline, relevant work experience, and demonstrated expertise in conducting research on First Nations social and emotional wellbeing are required. You must be committed to up-to-date knowledge and developments in the field, with evidence of high-quality research and leadership potential.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Identification as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
  • PhD in a related discipline (e.g., psychology, public health, Indigenous studies)
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research on First Nations social and emotional wellbeing
  • Proven ability to lead research teams and mentor junior researchers
  • Strong understanding of the cultural, social, and historical contexts that influence First Nations social and emotional wellbeing
  • Commitment to up-to-date knowledge and developments in the field
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships
