The role of a Hospital Pathology Collector is to provide quality patient care with the support and resources provided, while building strong connections and being integral to the local communities they work in.
As a specialist Hospital Pathology Collector, you will have opportunities to upskill, gain exposure to different areas of pathology and fast track your career with different career paths available.
You will be part of a network of passionate pathology collectors and our mission to be the best pathology provider in Australia.
Key Responsibilities- Liaising and building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders within the hospital including doctors, nurses and patients
- Advanced Pathology Collection – collecting samples (blood and non-blood) across different wards and areas including Paediatrics, difficult bleeds and AGBs with care and attention
- Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector with demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy, ideally with a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or a nursing background.
Excellent liaison and communication skills with a high level of empathy and a patient-centred approach are required. You must be organised with high attention to detail.
Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one is also necessary.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency or New Zealand citizenship, or a valid visa with work permission is required.
Vaccine-preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role. Other vaccinations based on location may be required.
