Ceramic Wall and Floor Tiler Job Description

Lay ceramic tiles on walls and floors, ensuring precision in alignment for a professional finish.

  • Examine plans to understand the layout and spacing of tiles, then measure and mark surfaces accordingly.
  • Prepare walls and floors by removing old tiles, grout, adhesives, filling cracks, and cleaning surfaces.
  • Spread adhesives onto surfaces and set tiles securely in position, taking care not to disturb adjacent areas.
  • Use cutting tools to shape tiles to fit around edges, corners, and obstacles like pipes and fittings.
  • Grout tiles and remove excess grout to achieve a smooth surface finish.
  • Apply waterproofing systems to protect against water damage and ensure longevity.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Tiling installation: Ceramic tile laying experience, with knowledge of tile patterns and spacings.
  • Surface preparation: Ability to inspect surfaces, prepare them for tiling, and fill gaps or cracks as needed.
