Senior Associate or Legal Advisor in Commercial and Real Estate Law

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate with a strong background in commercial and real estate law to join our Retirement Living team at MinterEllison. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with pre-eminent Partners Tammy Berghofer and Robin Lyons, assisting clients in achieving their policy and business objectives within Australia's retirement living sector.

As a Senior Associate, you will be involved in a broad mix of commercial, transactional and/or regulatory work across most Australian jurisdictions, depending on your experience and preference. Some examples of the types of projects you may work on include:

  • Capital Transactions
    • Assisting with capital transactions of retirement villages, land lease communities, rental villages, and aged care portfolios.
  • Regulatory Advice
    • Providing regulatory advice on the application of a range of real estate and retirement living legislation.
  • Contract Compliance
    • Supporting our clients to ensure their resident contracts and disclosures are compliant across their portfolio.
  • Thought Leadership
    • P Presenting seminars on topical regulatory issues to our clients and industry groups.
    • Assisting and supporting our involvement in peak industry bodies representing the retirement and aged care sector.

About You

We welcome applications from lawyers with:

  • A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in general commercial, real estate, or regulatory/advisory law.
  • Strong technical and drafting skills, with the ability to deliver quality, commercial, and pragmatic advice.
  • A very strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients, and industry stakeholders.
  • A willingness to contribute to business development and thought leadership initiatives, including presentations, client training, and publications.
  • Resilience and a commitment to excellence that matches our own.

Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per annum
