About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to lead our project delivery team. This is a contract role with the possibility of extension, offering an attractive daily pay rate of up to $885 + Super.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects. You will also mentor and share knowledge to build the technical capability of the Project Engineering & Support team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with clients and key stakeholders to evaluate project requirements and develop solutions that meet specifications and achieve project goals.
  • Assist in preparing project documentation, including safety plans, environmental plans, and quality plans.
  • Setup and manage project controls for cost and progress reporting.
  • Coordinate risk management workshops and rail safety reviews.
  • Analyse drawings and design documentation for technical accuracy and suitability.
  • Ensure assessment of safety in design and constructability reviews.
  • Evaluate tenders and select suitable options based on established specifications.
  • Monitor and report project progress against project plans.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil, Track, Electrical, Operational Technology, Control Systems, Signalling) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated track maintenance or construction experience, preferably in a rail environment.
  • Substantial experience in project delivery and/or engineering works.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in providing engineering advice and support, including functional specification development and design coordination.
  • Experience in project management support, including budget management and cost control.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Engineering and Technical standards.
