Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Strategic Financial Advisory Associate to join our team in Sydney, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, results-focused environment that values diversity.

About the Role

This role involves supporting the origination and execution of structured finance transactions, particularly in the Mining, Metals, and related industries sectors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build close relationships with teams onshore and within the organization globally.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Preparing, customizing, optimizing, and maintaining financial models for advisory mandates, including creating and running financial scenarios and sensitivities.
  2. Interrogating the financial model for financing mandates, including creating and running sensitivities and checking integrity.
  3. Reviewing and supervising financial modelling tasks undertaken by junior staff, and completing more complex modelling tasks where required.
  4. Staying up-to-date with developments across sectors, particularly Mining & Metals finance, as well as current transactions and opportunities in the market.
  5. Providing day-to-day transaction support, including structuring, pricing, preparing credit applications, undertaking detailed financial analyses, and due diligence analyses, and assisting the deal team leader to provide best-in-class lending and advisory services to the client base.
  6. Respecting all relevant compliance practices and other internal requirements in relation to the execution of advisory and lending transactions.
  7. Managing internal processes relating to the arranging and advisory business (updating databases, credit application writing, completing relevant internal system-based processes).
  8. Identifying potential marketing opportunities and preparing pitch material (including reviewing feasibility studies, detailed analysis of financial models, etc.).
  9. Establishing a network of contacts at key clients and prospective clients.
  10. Supervising and developing junior team members, including appropriate delegation and review of certain tasks suitable to the skills and experience of those junior team members while maintaining a high quality of overall team execution.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. A university degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law) or a professional financial qualification.
  2. Postgraduate qualifications considered favorably.
  3. Experience in Mining & Metals finance and sector knowledge, and/or another structured finance environment utilizing similar tools, processes, and procedures.
  4. 3-5 years' relevant experience.
  5. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including strong financial modelling abilities.
  6. Experience in generating clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive pitch material addressing clients' needs.
  7. Strong numerical skills with an advanced understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements, and cash flows.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, plus benefits and a dynamic working environment.
