At Great Southern Bank, we are seeking a visionary Chief People Officer to lead our People and Wellbeing division. This strategic role will oversee the execution of cultural change and people engagement initiatives across business divisions, driving effective People & Culture strategic objectives that support business outcomes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Inspiring and setting the direction for our People and Wellbeing teams, fostering a culture of exceptional delivery, teamwork, commitment to excellence, and a professional ethic that enables achievement of team and organisational objectives.
  • Overseeing the provision of strategic people advice and support in the development and implementation of people initiatives aligned with our bank's strategy.
  • Accountable for the oversight and governance of payroll, employee due diligence, and safety systems.
  • Providing timely and accurate advice in employee relations and enterprise agreement to ensure harmonious people relations and thriving team members, considering market practices.
  • Working with P&C Business Partners and stakeholders to evolve people plans, progressing talent and diversity initiatives with a focus on skills and capabilities for the future.
  • Partnering with peers to deliver outcomes, ensuring cohesive execution and business relevance of our People Strategy.
  • Developing P&C talent, ensuring our people and teams deliver across boundaries and continue to grow their capability.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader to make a meaningful impact at Great Southern Bank. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience leading successful P&C teams and programs, working collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience within a leadership role, Human Resources or Business Management.
  • Expertise in delivering programs of work and planning that drive behavioural change and measurable outcomes.
  • Significant internal consulting experience working closely with Executives and Senior Leaders, able to effectively lead projects and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Skillful presentation to Boards and Executives, demonstrating ability to translate strategy into tangible actions and measurable results.
  • Able to understand and interpret employment legislation, working with experts to ensure organisational obligations are met and understood.
