Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the department's innovation portfolio, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and government objectives.
  • Integrate innovation methods, tools, and resources into departmental policy development processes.
  • Drive adoption of innovative practices and emerging technologies to enhance service delivery outcomes.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement across government, industry, and not-for-profit sectors to co-design, prototype, and pilot solutions.
  • Represent the department's innovation agenda at portfolio, APS-wide, and cross-sector governance forums.
  • Identify, assess, and scale effective innovation practices and outcomes.
  • Build capability and foster a culture of innovation across the department and portfolio agencies.
  • Provide strategic advice on innovation opportunities, risks, and enablers to senior executive stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Assistant Secretary - Digital Strategy, Architecture and Innovation.
