Job Overview:

  • We are seeking a seasoned cost management professional to join our team in Canberra.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in providing expert cost management services across various stages of construction projects, particularly for government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans from initial concept through to project completion.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and value engineering exercises to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure best value for clients.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, including cash flow forecasting and cost-to-complete analyses.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar field.
  • 3-10+ years of experience in cost management roles, ideally in a consultancy environment.
  • Previous experience working on construction projects for Government agencies (highly desirable).

Essential Skills:

  • RICS and/or AIQS accreditation.
  • Proficiency in industry-leading software.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian construction standards, building codes, and regulations.
